5 WAYS TO BE INVOLVED IN
PRESIDENT RYAN’S INAUGURATION

  1. VOLUNTEER
The Inauguration will be a moment to remember. Be part of UVA history by helping fill more than 100 volunteer positions around Grounds. In addition to helping guests from across the country navigate two days of Inauguration events, each volunteer will receive a free T-shirt, free food, and more.  Volunteers also will be invited to a Thank-You Picnic with President Ryan. Go to the sign-up form.

  2. RUN OR WALK IN THE COMMUNITY BRIDGES 5K
100 percent of the proceeds from this community-wide 5K will go to support the Center for Nonprofit Excellence and its 250 member organizations. The run/walk course will wind through Central Grounds, across three bridges, and into the heart of the Charlottesville community. Register by October 5 and save $5.

  3. CELEBRATE SERVICE (Prizes awarded!)
The Celebration of Service will feature two donation drives, a mini service project, the opportunity to learn about more than 50 service organizations, free food, music from UVA and community DJs, and more. Participate in these activities for the chance to win awesome prizes, like tickets to attend sporting events or concerts in the President’s Box at JPJ and Scott Stadium, diploma frames, and more.

  4. ATTEND THE INSTALLATION CEREMONY AND OTHER EVENTS
Witness history as Jim Ryan is sworn in as the ninth president of the University on Friday, October 19, at 3 p.m. Attend all the other Inauguration events, too. R.S.V.P. online so we know you’re coming!
