Dear Students from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia:
As we continue to closely watch the evolving models and forecasts for Hurricane Florence, I am writing because our records show your hometown is located in one of the areas projected to be affected the most by this category 4 storm.
Although the path and impact of Florence may change, we want you to know the University is thinking about the impact of this storm beyond Charlottesville and Albemarle County. In particular, we are concerned for you and your family members. If you find now or in the coming days that the storm has impacted you personally, emotionally, or financially, please let us know so we can determine what University resources may be available to assist you. You can reach the Office of the Dean of Students by calling 434-924-7133 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please know we are thinking of you and your family at this challenging time. We remain hopeful that Florence will leave behind as little damage as possible.
Allen W. Groves
University Dean of Students
