As we begin what will undoubtedly be a uniquely challenging semester for us all, we would like to bring to your attention a few opportunities to connect with the hundreds of organizations at UVA. At the start of each school year, Student Council hosts a large activities fair on the South Lawn and the Amphitheatre. This year, we have created a virtual fair that you can all visit from anywhere in the world! The event will take place over three days, on Sunday, August 30th; Monday, August 31st; and Tuesday, September 1st. Over these three days, we will be hosting FOUR separate fair events, each held for two hours. There are more than 450 organizations that will be participating and they are excited for the opportunity to meet you!
Check out the Facebook Event for updates and visit uvastudco.com/fall2020fair for more details. This video guide will also provide an inside look on how to engage with the fair. Remember that you can always log in to @UVA to find more information for any of UVA’s 700-plus organizations. If you would like some help narrowing down the various groups, fill out the UVA Involvement Calculator to receive a personalized list of clubs created by your peers that fit your interests! Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org or your Student Engagement team if you have any questions.
Additionally, this year there will be two other online activities fairs. HackCville is hosting ClubsatUVA for all students on Friday, August 28th, 12-3 p.m. EDT. The Black Student Alliance is hosting The Source , specifically for Black, Indigenous, and other students of color, on Saturday, August 29th, from 2-4 p.m. EDT. We encourage you to attend these fairs as well!
Even while learning remotely, connecting with organizations at UVA is one of the best ways for you to begin forming your community! We hope that you will join us this year, and we wish you well for the start of your semester.
