Dear Fellow Students,
The purpose of this email is to remind you that the 2020 University-Wide Elections have begun! As I stated in my first email in December, these elections are an excellent opportunity to make your mark at the University and to take part in one of UVA’s most esteemed traditions of student self-governance. I highly encourage you to get involved.
To reiterate, if you are interested in running for an office, you must do one of the following things: attend a Candidate Information Session hosted by the University Board of Elections OR take the online eligibility quiz, which can be found at uvavote.com.
The final two Candidate Information Sessions will be held on:
- Tuesday, January 14, 7:30 p.m. in Clark 101*
- Tuesday, January 21, 7:30 p.m. in Clark 101*
*Locations subject to change. Any changes will be posted to uvavote.com.
The candidate eligibility quiz will close on January 27 at 4 p.m.
Only those students who either attend an information session or complete the online quiz will gain access to the registration form that is required for candidacy.
The 2020 Elections Calendar, Candidate Information Session Presentation, and the UBE Rules and Regulations are all located on uvavote.com. These are the main documents needed to complete the online eligibility quiz. Additional helpful documents will be uploaded in the coming days, so please check our website frequently for updates.
Should you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Welcome to a new semester at UVA, and I am excited to work with you in these upcoming elections!
Chair, University Board of Elections
