We hope this message finds you safe, well, and enjoying your fall classes.
Our records indicate you have not met the COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Measures, as outlined in SIS. The deadline to complete these requirements was August 25. Due to your lack of response, your ID has been deactivated to limit your access to on-site buildings and services for safety reasons.
To ensure we know your intentions for the fall semester, no later than September 30, 2020, please go to the COVID-19 requirements in SIS and begin with the question of whether you have any intention of living or learning locally (on Grounds, in Charlottesville or Albemarle).
If you state you will be living or learning locally, you will need to complete all parts of the COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Measures. This includes submitting a PCR COVID-19 test through the Healthy Hoos portal. You may order a free, mail-in self-test kit from the University’s vendor, Let’s Get Checked or schedule a test at your own expense. After you successfully complete all the requirements (you will see the hold lifted in SIS), you will be cleared to come to Grounds or the local area, attend in-person classes, and access UVA recreational facilities, library buildings, and dining services.
If you state that you will NOT be here this fall, you will not have access to come to Grounds or live/learn in the local community, and your mandatory and student activity fees will be updated to reflect the higher on-Grounds amounts, which total an additional $660. If you have not responded by September 30, your fees will remain as they are throughout the remainder of the semester.
If you need assistance with this process, please write the Return to Grounds call center at ReturntoGrounds@virginia.edu.
Thank you for taking care of these important requirements as soon as possible but no later than September 30.
Allen W. Groves
