Dear Students:

Happy New Year!

As we kick off the spring semester, we hope you’ll join your fellow students at the Spring 2021 Virtual Activities Fair! While the Spring Fair is usually held throughout Newcomb Hall, this year we will once again be using the @UVA platform. Similar to fall, the event will take place over three days: Sunday, February 7th; Monday, February 8th; and Tuesday, February 9th. Over these three days, you can attend FOUR separate fair events, each held for two hours. Visit uvastudco.com/spring2021fair to view the categories for each day, and to download a list of the organizations that will be tabling at each event! We also invite you to check out the Facebook Event for updates and reminders, as well as this video guide which will provide an inside look on how to engage with the fair.

While the fair is a great opportunity to talk directly with organization members, gain access to listservs, and ask questions in real time, you can always log in to @UVA at any point in the year to find more information about UVA’s 700-plus organizations. If you would like some help narrowing down the various groups, fill out the UVA Involvement Calculator. This is a tool to help you identify clubs and opportunities that could be a great fit for you based on your interests. Find the form front and center on the homepage of @UVA after signing in. If you fill it out now, we’ll do our best to get a response back to you before the Activities Fair. However, if you’d rather ease into classes first, check out the fair, and then dig deeper into opportunities, you can fill it out after, too. It’s never too early or too late when it comes to making new connections and trying something new!

Please reach out to [email protected] or your Student Engagement team if you have any questions.

Even in a remote learning environment, connecting with organizations that interest you at UVA is an amazing way to find support and community among your fellow Hoos. We hope that you’ll join us this weekend, and wish you well for the start of your semester.

Respectfully,
