The Department of Student Health recently diagnosed a case of mumps in our student population. The following email was sent to students earlier this afternoon and provided them with information about the mumps virus, how to avoid contracting mumps, and guidance on what they should do if they become ill. We hope that you will encourage your student to follow protective measures and to seek care if needed.

One of the key values that this University prides itself on is its commitment to student self-governance. Student self-governance adds much to our University's distinct culture every single day. From Class Councils and Student Council to Honor and UJC, student leaders are making their marks on our University and its future. If you would like to enrich the student experience here at our University, you should consider running for an elected position in the upcoming Spring 2017 University-wide Elections.
Congratulations on reaching the end of the semester! Whether this be your first or one of your last semesters, I hope it was rewarding and that your hard work paid off. As we leave Grounds for a well-deserved break, I would like to share with you opportunities to get involved next semester, as well as a recap of this semester's Student Council initiatives. If you have any questions or are interested in becoming involved, please feel free to email me or contact Student Council.
The Board of Visitors recently approved the formation of a Student Advisory Committee to the Strategic Investment Fund. The Student Advisory Committee would sit adjacent to the Advisory Committee and provide feedback on proposals that seek to improve the student experience. The committee would identify proposals or features of proposals they believe the student body would not receive positively, as well as those proposals that they think provide students with the greatest benefits.
Dear Fellow Members of the University Community,
As the fall semester comes to a close, and with finals approaching, our University's most anticipated event is just around the corner: Lighting of the Lawn. On behalf of the Lighting of the Lawn Committee, we warmly invite you to join us this Thursday, December 1, from 7 to 10 p.m. on the Lawn.
