June 7, 2017

University Programs Council is excited to announce our Welcome Week 2017 concert artists, Future and Lil Yachty, who will be performing on August 19 at 9 p.m. in the John Paul Jones Arena (JPJ).

We also are excited to announce that we will once again be offering free tickets to upperclass students through a student lottery! Look out for details in the near future about how to enter the lottery and how many tickets will be available.

Again, students interested in attending have three options in getting tickets:

Rising Second-Year Student Jessica Alston

May 30, 2017

To the University Community:

It is with sadness that I inform you of the death of Jessica Alston, a rising second-year student in the School of Nursing from Virginia Beach. Those who knew Jessica have said her kind, calm, and reassuring manner would have made her a perfect nurse. Jessica had decided to enter the field of nursing as a result of her father's experience serving on the U.S.S. Cole when it was attacked in 2000. She was especially interested in learning more about labor and delivery nursing and neonatal nursing.
