Dear fellow students and friends,

I hope this message finds you well.

As we enter this final stretch of the semester, your peers on the Honor Committee extend their warm wishes for success on your upcoming exams. While this time of year can be difficult, it will stand as a testament to your hard work and dedication to your studies. You got this!

While you are here, I would like to share a friendly reminder of our shared commitment to honor and integrity. It is in times of pressure and deadlines that our principles are most tested, and most visible. Let’s remember that the value of our efforts is not just in the grades we achieve, but in the fair and earnest ways we achieve them. As we each turn to our screens and notes, let's support one another in upholding the tradition of integrity that makes us proud to be part of this community.

And while easier said than done, it’s crucial to remember the importance of self-care. Please take moments to rest and recharge, as your well-being is just as important as your academic success. The Honor Committee has organized well-being tables at libraries, a Grit coffee tab on all exam days, and a loaner supply table in Newcomb with calculators and free blue books.

Additionally, Student Health and Wellness (SHW) has free C’ville Coffee in their building every Wednesday morning starting at 9 a.m. throughout the end of the academic year. For finals, they’re also offering snacks. You can also take advantage of the Reflection Rooms at SHW – available for relaxation, power napping, meditation, prayer, and reflection. These quiet spaces feature cozy seating and low lighting to provide a tranquil environment for unwinding and escaping the busy atmosphere of Grounds. Through TimelyCare, students also receive a variety of on-demand resources to help you relax and unwind. From meditation exercises to stress grounding tips. Access all their Self-Care assets by logging into the portal on the SHW website.

You can find more details regarding Honor, SHW, Writing Center, and Library initiatives at honor.virginia.edu/finals.

So, study hard, take care of yourself, and remember that you are part of a community that believes in you. Good luck, and let’s finish strong!

All the best,

Hamza Aziz (he/him)
