Dear Students:

I begin this message with a warm welcome to our new students. We look forward to introducing you to the UVA family and all the opportunities that await you as a member of this special community. Move-In Reminders for Parents of New UVA Students

August 16, 2018

Dear Parents:

With Move-In Weekend quickly approaching, I wanted to write with some last-minute reminders. We are looking forward to the arrival of your daughters and sons along with the start of a new academic year. It's an exciting time for you and your new student as well as for us.

The Housing & Residence Life website is the best source of information about move-in. What to bring, what not to bring, move-in times and locations, parking tips – all of these details and more are available on the website.

Dear Students:

As Chair of the University Programs Council, a student-run organization founded to provide welcoming and inclusive events and spaces for students, I and the rest of our Council are grateful for the opportunity to welcome you to Grounds for a new year. With that being said, I am happy to announce the events taking place for UPC Welcome Week 2018.

Dear New or Returning Student:

In a few short weeks, we will welcome everyone back to the Grounds for a new academic year. As part of your preparation, both new and returning students must complete one or more items related to community policies and standards.

If you go to your Student Information System (SIS) account, you will see the items you need to complete under your To Do List.

UVA Student ID Card – Photo Submission Required

June 25, 2018

Dear New Student:

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Virginia!

This is a reminder, if you have not already done so as part of your Summer Orientation checklist, to submit your photo to the ID Card Office. Submitting your photo is as simple as taking your picture with your phone and then uploading it. Your University Student ID Card will then be preprinted and available for pick-up during your registered Orientation session.
